PROGRAMME DETAILS

TRAINING GOALS

Do you wish to get prepared optimally before pursuing a higher education curriculum in France, more specifically in an artistic field ? This programme was made for you ! It is designed not only to improve your French, but also to teach you all the essentials you need to successfully study art in France : the methodology, the specific vocabulary used in artistic disciplines… Additionally, you can prepare effectively for the admission procedure in the establishment of your choosing through adequate instruction and personal tutoring.

PROGRAMME CONTENT

In this programme, three main training units are developed :

  • Unit 1 - Linguistic skills :  reading, listening, spoken & written expression classes, further study of expression, grammar classes, and training for the TCF test ;
  • Unit 2 - Pragmatic skills :  courses in French language applied to art, art history & culture, drawing classes, contemporary plastic art workshops, work & analysis methodology ;
  • Unit 3 – Socio-linguistic skills : spoken language practice in real situations, supervised personal project, preparation to art school entry exams.

In order to provide your artistic inspirations with an adequate outlet, a specially equipped workshop will be put at your disposal within the school.

Teaching method

In order to reach its goals, ISPA relies on a dynamic teaching methodology based on three axes :

  • being truly there for you at every stage of your learning curve, with progress assessment and additional support sessions during the course of your progression, as well as constant reevaluation of the implemented teaching methods ;
  • encouraging your autonomy, by putting various resources at your disposal such as a multimedia workroom, a resource center, and free Internet access ;
  • promoting your integration into French lifestyle through cultural activities organized by the school, the Cultural Sponsors programme, and involving our students in local activities.

That is why your French language programme will be augmented with specialized classes designed to help you acquire not only the specific vocabulary but also the whole methodology necessary to pursue your future higher education curriculum. In groups of 20 students maximum for language classes and 30 students for specialized classes, you will work on the CEFRL's four skills (listening, reading, spoken expression & written expression), while staying as close as possible to your future specific needs. You will of course have ample access to your teachers should you have questions or need personalized advice, and in case of difficulties they will provide tailored monitoring.
